Oh – where should I start? My parents purchased the Morgan back in 1987. If I recall correctly my mother insisted on a four-seater so that my sister and I could join family trips. Needless to say that my father would have preferred a Morgan Plus 8 and so would I nowadays to be honest.
But (of course) my mother was right with her call. The tours, trips and club events with the Morgan really were family events. Multiple father&son tours with friends to the Morgan factory in Malvern Link are among the best memories.
At some point I became father. My priorities logically changed but my kids also loved tours in the Morgan with their Grandparents. For good reasons my sister took over the Morgan a couple years back after my father had a stroke. Although she is quite good and talented with tools it is safe to say that she is not a mechanic. My father gradually recovered and still drove the Morgan but the condition of the car deteriorated year after year.
So – here we are now – April 2020. The decision has been made that I will fix our family Morgan 4/4 four-seater with the chassis number C6622. This blog will contain my thoughts and notes on the process. Hopefully this and the experiences I will collect along the way might help others that tackle a similar projects.
