Today I finally got around to remove the last panels from the frame which needs some fixing. The only parts that need to be replaced are the lefthand sillboard, door rocker and latchpost. Initially I thought about leaving all other panels on the frame – but I decided to do it properly.
The best method I could find to remove the nails in the panels is to use a carefully push a nail puller behind the nailhead. This will leave a slight dent in the wood – but this is minial damage. Usually this is enough loosen the nail head enough to slide the nail puller in from the front. I used a little hammer on the puller to really get under the head.
The hardest part was the backpanel. There is a little piece bend like a hook at the bottom. In order to remove the nails the rear arch sills which are connected on the fourseater with the rear bottom rail need to be removed.
Unfortunately this is not all – the panel is covered just a little by the posts that are connected to the wheel arch. One one side I missed to remove the bottom screw – but luckily there this is not a major task to fix.
