stay tuned

there is really no big update right now. I called the garage in Solingen today and the only information I got is that the engine seems to work as they drove the car in and out. While that might not mean much, I sincerly hope that the Weber rebuild was successful and the wiring might not be completely off. I know that my Morgan is just another customer car for them – but as I invested money, time and dedication to the project, I would really get more feedback on what the status is. This reminds me that Frontline Developments was quite good on this with the MGB. Ed always patiently kept me updated with WhatsApp messages and pictures. But with the Morgan all I can do is wait a bit longer.

Speaking of the MGB – using the good weather yesterday we took “Maggie” out of a spin. While we runs great right now, I am currently rebuilding the old SU HS4 carbs to maybe replace the Weber 45DCOE again. At least I want to get it tuned in to work with the uprated 1860ccm engine and have it as option. I started with this a while ago, but set the carbs aside for some time now. While looking where to get a rebuild kit I found this offer on Ebay.co.uk. Whatever I am going to try – I already know that it will be close to impossible to achieve the same results that this guy offers. He makes a twin HS4 carb look like a piece of artwork. Maybe I should consider this service instead…????
