Paintshop progress

On Friday evening I finally got the much awaited call that the work on the right headlight bowl has been completed. They asked me to come into the workshop on Saturday to take the Morgan apart again.

The bonnet and cowl came off easily. Removing the exhaust and front wings without jacking the car up is a bit fiddly but eventually they also found their way into the spray booth an hour later. In order to get the rear wings off the wheels have to be removed. After squeezing a trolley jack behind the car the rear parts were also removed a few minutes later. All in all it took roughly two hours – using all new stainless screws and the fastening modification paid off.

An hour later the first coat of spray filler was done on the parts I took off. The rest of the car will be done on Monday. Their goal is to finish the car by mid July now. Fingers crossed for that.
