I’ve got the power

After 3 months waiting time, an electrician finally installed the Easee wallbox today. I already bought this unit last summer. Back then I ordered a new company car. Since you pay much less tax even on electric and hybrid cars, a wallbox was a mandatory thing to have. But the parking space (4,30m in length) in front of our house is still limited. We do plan to relocate the stairs – but this is something we have been talking about for a few years now…

But as I am about to change my employer – I won’t get a new company car. Therefore, a wallbox charger is actually not really needed right now. The Easee box supports RFID tags and can only be accessed and used when you have an authorised key. The installation of 11kw chargers is subsidized. The cool thing about this box is that it can be configured to support 22kw later on. The necessary fuses are already in place and it is just a flip in the software.

Now all I need is an electric car…. a one that fits in the parking lot, looks cool and is a bit more practical than Miffi. One that allows me to get the dogs in the back…. Something like this 🙂 I need to finish the MGB(s) first, but this is high up on my planned project list.
