Saab rust repairs update

This week I neither had time nor really the motivation to work in the garage as it is freezing cold here right now. The only thing I managed today was a quick visit at the body shop to check on Saabeth. Luckily, they increased the team that can do metal work. The owner also told me that he has plans to make some space for a dedicated “classics” department starting this February. This is great as one of my MGB GT shells is scheduled to go there next month… (fingers-crossed)

The rear right wheel arch was rusted caused by an unprofessional previous repair. This time all panels were rust protected also on the inside and the seams have been sealed. While working on this they also sorted out a rust problem on the rear end of the sill. The left wheel arch and sill had just small areas that needed attention. We checked the underside and couldn’t find any spot that needs attentions right now. Prepping for paint starts tomorrow and I can use the welder to work on my engine stand project.
