one of these slow days

Especially when you just have a few hours after work to spent in the garage you sometimes feel that you are not making any progress. Well one of the larger tasks was completing the wooden frame and this is king of sorted now. Ok – I know that it isn’t. Two more coats of black paint need to follow the conservation primer. In addition I also have to pick up the back panel from the paint shop and attach back to the frame.

After getting to the garage after work I also spent quite some time cleaning up and sorting screws and parts. While taking the car apart I used large grey plastic containers to sort assembly groups. I used a couple of plastic bags that I unfortunately did not label good enough for every container. Whenever I can I am replacing bolts and nuts with metric stainless steal version. In hintsight I should have documented some screws and parts I took apart better. A significant amout of time is spent now by searching and looking at picture of the dissambly.

Just to get the feeling of having accomplished something today I cleaned up and reassambled the handbrake and pedals. My work schedule will not grant me much time in the garage in the next couple days – I hope I will be able to squeeze the paint job in though.
